Crows in the Graveyard

Resurrection is not solemn

as I watch them

hop from marble reminders

to the snowy ground beneath.

Too early to raise the dead

they cackle their requiems

in bright sunlight.

Unhinged at the scene

the mourners leave,

only black harbingers remain

of another life

beyond our own.
