I sit for a second,
to watch the constant,
activity around me.
Joggers keep in step,
with blaring headphones.
Children screaming,
in delight as they descend slides.
Bike riders fly by,
on crooked paths;
maneuvering by,
distracted pedestrians.
Couples lean into each other,
walking and talking quietly;
reflecting upon a past conversation,
a declaration of love,
or plans for dinner.
I watch all these,
various activities,
from my own reposed state.
